with Deep Roots
Cottonland Maine Coons began with a simple belief: that the finest kittens are raised in a home, not a cage. Located in Rayville, Louisiana, our small cattery is woven into the fabric of our family life. Our cats roam freely, curl up on sofas, and grow up knowing the warmth of human touch every single day.
We fell in love with the Maine Coon breed for their dog-like personalities, stunning appearance, and gentle temperament. These are cats that follow you from room to room, greet you at the door, and thrive on companionship. We wanted to share that joy with families across Louisiana and beyond.
Every breeding decision we make is guided by health, temperament, and breed standard — in that order. We are proud members of TICA and adhere to their code of ethics in all aspects of our program.

Genetic Health Testing
Every breeding cat in our program is tested for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), and Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). We share all test results openly with our kitten families.
Socialization & Love
Our kittens are handled daily from birth. They are raised alongside children and other pets, exposed to normal household sounds and activities, and given every opportunity to develop into confident, affectionate companions.
Ethical Breeding
We limit our litters carefully to ensure each queen receives the best care and each kitten receives individual attention. We never prioritize quantity over quality, and we are selective about the families our kittens join.

Our breeding cats are carefully selected for exceptional conformation, temperament, and health. We look for the hallmarks of the Maine Coon breed: large, muscular bodies; long, flowing coats; tufted ears; and those magnificent, expressive eyes.
Above all, we select for personality. Our cats are gentle, playful, and deeply bonded to their human family. That temperament is what we strive to pass on to every kitten we produce.
